Graduation is Near-an SPVM 09 must read

I have long regarded graduation as a sort of liberation, a sign of freedom from the halls of CdSP, and the rules that come along with it. Visions of throwing caps and gowns into disarray used to ring my head, realizing that days of bell schedules, checking of grooming materials, surveying lates and absences, would be gone. I was never scared of graduation, never afraid of the freedom that it would bring me.

Now, as the actual day approaches, my thoughts of graduation have slightly changed. Suddenly, I no longer completely crave that freedom that I imagined and longed for. Instead, a tinge of fear resides in my head as I think of graduation day, thinking of the breaking up of the monotony and routine. In that endless routine that we had, day in and out, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., there was certainty and predictable procedure. Graduation will mark the end of this, and we will have to think outside of the schedules we have stood for four years.

We spent four years of our lives sitting within the corridors and walls of the school, dying to get out, but when that day approaches, the end seems a bit frightening. There is a future that holds everything or nothing. For the few weeks, I have looked into the mirror and stared with disbelief that I realized that I am a SENIOR. Perhaps I did not live my high school life just as I had imagined I would in fifth or sixth grade, but I lived it, nonetheless, and now here I am.

The liberation I used to crave is frightening because of its uncertainty, but it is also exciting because it brings new beginnings. I do not know if I am ready to take on the world, but I know that I will have to try. Graduation marks ends and beginnings all at the same time, and any way you put it, it is a day that I will remember forever.

WHAT is LEADERSHIP?

According to the dictionary, leadership is the office or position of a leader; guidance. It is synonymous to precedence, the act or right preceding, priority in place, time, or rank. Adolf Hitler may killed hundred-thousands of Jews but he was a good leader. We all do have different perspectives. Some may looked at Hitler as an evil man who slaughtered a lot people and who desired for fame and power. If we changed our perspective and looked at Hitler as a good leader, you’ll appreciate his effort. He was a good leader, intelligent and respected. He made firm decisions; his decisions had its reason. He didn’t decide for no reason or without basis. Jesus Christ was a good leader too. He was a prophet, a priest, and a preacher. He leads according to right and just. He was not selfish unlike Hitler. He knows what is best for us. A good leader is willing to suffer for his/her followers. Like what Jesus Christ did, he suffered and died on the cross just to free us from our sins. Leadership is all about perspectives. For example, roses; Roses have thorns or thorns have roses…I depends on how you looked at it. you looked at every opportunity a problem or every problem, an opportunity—to grab.

PERFECT CREATURE ENTERTAINMENT : my opinion

I agree with the director, Glenn Standring. The movie, “Perfect creature”, was really different from other vampire movies. In common vampire movies, the vampires are often the antagonist in the story; in “Perfect Creature” the vampires are the protectors of humanity who guard us from the effects of disease and viral mutations. Unlike the other vampire movies that I’ve watched, this time the vampires were not scary-looking creatures; their appearances were perfect. The story will change the way you look at vampires and the terrifying evil they possessed. The story looks interesting, imagine vampires and humans live harmoniously together…for me, it sounds cool.

EDWARD CULLEN

A guy from Forks named Edward Cullen has a tall and muscular body. He is like an Adonis. His bronze and silky hair makes him a ladies’ man. His eyes are painted gold and piercing, like the sun. With one look in his eyes, your life could end. His skin is ivory; you can see that his skin has no scratch at all. His lips, luscious and pale, are every girl’s desire. His Herculean body can defend you from Hydras, Griffins, and other ferocious creatures. You’ll feel safe with a man like him. Edward Cullen--a guy that makes me dream when I’m awake.

AUTUMN

It was summer, when the girl of my dreams left. I felt like I couldn’t live without her company, so I decided to follow her in Canada. I took a ride in a ship to lessen my expenses. I arrived at Canada in autumn season. I searched far and wide to find her. Three seasons passed, but still, I couldn’t find her. My autumn, winter, spring were all gloomy and oblivious. During those months, I suffered from starvation, pennilessness, and sickness. I grew weaker and weaker everyday. It was autumn once again, I finally found her…lying inside the coffin, pale and cold. Now, here I am…roaming around the hills in Canada, lost.
